What is Ads.txt File?
First things first, what is ads.txt file? Ads.txt stands for “Authorized Digital Sellers” and it’s a simple text file that lists the authorized digital advertising sellers for your website or app. In other words, it’s a way for you to declare who is allowed to sell ads on your behalf and receive payments from advertisers.

Ads.txt file contains a list of domains and seller IDs that are authorized to sell your ad inventory. These IDs are provided by your ad exchange, network, or platform and they are unique to each seller.
By adding an ads.txt file to your site, you’re telling advertisers and buyers that you have authorized sellers and they should only buy ads from them.
Why is Ads.txt Important for Adsense Revenue?
Now that you know what ads.txt file is, you may wonder why it’s important for your Adsense revenue. Well, there are several reasons why you should add ads.txt file to your site:

Ads.txt file can help you protect your ad inventory from fraudulent or unauthorized sellers who may try to sell your ad space without your consent or knowledge. By specifying the authorized sellers in your ads.txt file, you can reduce the risk of ad fraud, ad misplacement, or revenue loss.
2. Boost Your Ad Revenue:
Ads.txt file can also help you increase your Adsense revenue by ensuring that your ad space is sold at the highest possible price. When advertisers know that they are buying from authorized sellers, they may be willing to pay more for your ad space and compete with each other. This can result in higher CPMs, fill rates, and earnings for you.
3. Comply with Adsense Policy:
Ads.txt file is a requirement for Adsense publishers, according to Google’s policy. If you don’t have ads.txt file on your site, your Adsense account may be at risk of suspension or termination. By adding ads.txt file, you’re not only complying with the policy but also improving your chances of getting more relevant and high-paying ads.

If you have a WordPress or any other type of website, this method will work for you. You don’t have any WordPress plugin to set this. Now you have to go to the root directory of your web hosting panel.
Most of the hosting providers have cpanel as the web hosting panel. If you host your website on a dedicated server or VPS. You need to get access to the server file system. You can use Filezilla like SFTP client to do that. Watch this video if you don’t know how to do that.
In this example, I use Cyberpanel, which is most like CPanel. So navigate to your file manager in CPanel which is dedicated to your website.

Then you have to go to the “public” folder, which has the main public files of your website. After that, upload the downloaded ads.txt file here.
