In this video, I will show you how to install the Google Play Store on your Windows 11 computer and activate the Windows subsystem for Android.
This is a straightforward method to install the Google Play Store and start running your Android apps on Windows 11. Here we will install the latest version of Android, Android 13 (Tiramisu). Let’s go step by step through the installation process.
Step 1: Minimum System Requirements

Before you install, your Windows 11 computer should meet the following requirements to run the Android subsystem on your PC:
Your computer will need an SSD and at least 8GB of RAM to run Android apps. Android apps will function on Windows 11 PCs that have at least an 8th Gen Intel Core i3, AMD Ryzen 3000, or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c processor.
Minmum System Requirements for WSA
- Static Solid Disk (SSD/NVMe)
- Min. 8GB RAM
- Windows 11 OS
- Above 8th Gen Intel Core i3 or
- Above AMD Ryzen 3000 or
- Above Qualcomm Snapdragon 8C
Step 2: Set up Windows 11 for Windows Subsytem for Android
You need to enable several features before installing the Google Play Store and Windows subsystems for Android. First, enable the virtual machine platform, and search for “Control Panel” on your Windows PC.

Next, go to the “Programs and Features” section. You will see a side link called “Turn Windows Features on or off” Click on that.
You will get this window; here, enable the “Virtual Machine Platform” and click the “Ok” button. It will ask you to restart the computer, so restart the computer.
After the restart, search for “Developer Settings” and navigate to that. You have to turn on developer mode and confirm it.

The next thing is that you have to download this zip file, which contains the Android system. You can download the file below.
Step 3: Install the Google Play Store on Windows 11
After you download the ZIP file, extract it. Then open the extracted folder and copy all the files by pressing (ctrl + A).

Go to your SSD storage and create a folder. Paste all the files that you copied. Ok, now you are ready to install the Windows Subsystem for Android, which allows you to run Android apps on your Windows OS.
Search for Windows PowerShell and run it as an administrator. We have to type two simple commands here. Don’t worry; these two are provided in the article. You just have to copy and paste.

First, we have to navigate to our folder; to do that, type “cd” and then paste the folder path here. You can copy the folder path by clicking on this bar.
cd C:\Android
After that, enter this command and hit enter.
Add-AppxPackage -Register AppxManifest.xml
It will enable WSA on your Windows computer. Now close the terminal and check for Windows Subsystem for Android in the start menu. You will see it is enabled, then try to open files by clicking this small icon.

It will initiate the Android OS for apps, and it will also install the Google Play store. Ok, it is finished. Now check the start menu, and you will see the Google Play Store icon.
Step 4: Set up the Google Play Store
Google Play Store has been installed successfully on your Windows 11 machine. Now you have to sign in using your Gmail account to use this. This is the same as your mobile OS.

Now I am signing in using my email address and the password. Ok, now you can install any app and run it directly on Windows 11. There’s no need for emulators anymore.
As an example, let’s install the Tiktok app and see whether it performs correctly. You can see how well this app performs on Windows.
