You can back up the Azuracast server on the web interface and on the command line also.

Web Interface Backup

The “Backup” page in the “System Administration” part of your AzuraCast online interface allows you to set up routine automated backups, perform a one-time backup, and download existing backup files.

The web panel backups don’t stop your broadcasts or disconnect your listeners.

Command Line Backup

You can back up your Docker files using the following commands. 

cd /var/azuracast
./docker.sh backup path-to-backup.zip

Backups can be made in “.tar.gz” and “.zip” formats. The filename you select for the backup file’s extension will automatically identify the proper format.

Restore Backup

Follow the below steps to restore your backup file on the new server.

1. Install AzuraCast (see our guide)

If you prefer stable release versions of AzuraCast, install it by selecting Y. This will help if you have an older backup file and are having trouble restoring it.

2. Run the restore command after the installation is complete:

./docker.sh restore path-to-backup.zip

3. Execute rolling-release

If an outdated backup file forced you to switch to the stable installation previously, you should now make the change by using the rolling-release command and selecting N when prompted to use the stable version:

./docker.sh setup-release

4. Update Azuracast

Finally, execute the below command to keep the installation up to date with the most recent rolling-release version:

./docker.sh update
