Hello, I’ve got problem with setuping server on Ubuntu with Virtualmin and Cloudflare proxy.
Actually I’ve got two questions:
- What records or/and options I need to add/turn at Cloudflare so as to my Virtualmin server would still be main DNS server and have full control over subdomains names etc.?
I want to use Cloudflare as proxy to handle potential ddos and to hide my server ip not as main DNS server. - After successful Cloudflare and Virtualmin DNS configuration: Which certification method should i choose? Just flexible SSL from Cloudflare or maybe Let’s encrypt from Virtualmin?

You can copy all the DNS records to Cloudflare. As I know, there is no option to setup Cloudflare without pointing out nameservers.
You can enable Virtualmin free SSL certificate and use Cloudflare “Full Strict” SSL protocol. Or disable any SSL/TLS settings for the main domain in the Virtualmin and use plain HTTP. This avoids any conflicts with Cloudflare’s SSL.
