Backup the Original Site Data
First, you have to install a plugin to your current hosting provider. We are going to back up the whole website first. In the WordPress dashboard, click the plugin. After that click the “add new” button. In the search bar type “All in One WP Migration”. You have to install and activate this plugin. I already install the plugin for this site.
After activation, you can see a new tab in the WordPress dashboard called “WP Migration”. Select the “Expert” tab. You will redirect to this screen. By expanding the “Advanced Options”, you able to customize the export settings.
I don’t export unnecessary files usually. After the customization, you click this “Export” button. there are few other ways to export the files. If you select “File”, your website backup downloads to your computer.
In this tutorial, I export these files to my Google Drive then it is very easy to restore without any issue. You need WP Migrate Google Extension to this. In the next step, I will show you how to install it.
This process takes time to prepare and upload the backup into Google Drive. If you select the “File” option, a download button will appear after the export.
Now the backup process is completed.
Transfer WordPress Hosting
You have a complete backup of your site. To migrate the WordPress site to another host, you need to fulfill few more steps. You can choose the best WordPress hosting provider to establish your website.

After you select the hosting provider install the WordPress on it. Next thing you have to do point out the Domain towards the new host IP. You can do it by editing the DNS records or Nameservers in the domain name provider.
After you have done all of these, you can go to the restore step.
Restore the Backup in the New Host
You are now set for the installation. Go to your new WordPress dashboard and be directed to “Plugins” inside it “add new”. You have to install the same plugin (all in one migration plugin) that we use to back up the site. I backup using Google Drive. So, I have to install both “All in One WP Migration” and “WP Migration Google Drive Extension”. Let me quickly install both of the plugins.

After installation, go to the “Import” section of the “WP Migration”. Click the “Import from” button to upload the backup file. If you downloaded your backup file on your computer, chose “File” as uploading mode.
I uploaded it to Google Drive So I chose it for import. I have to link the Google drive first. Let me do it.
Now it is connected to Google Drive. I try to import again. If you download the file to the desktop, you don’t have to worry so much. You can directly upload that file. Select your file and click import.
This takes some time to finish and set up your website correctly. In the free version of All-in-One WP Migrate, only allow up to 512 MB file size to upload.
If you get the premium version so you upload unlimited size, if you have a very large site, it is better to migrate your site manually.
Click “proceed” to continue the setup. It is restoring your site. You can get your site completely by this method. It restores all the data and even your WordPress login details.
Now it is done. Refresh the page you will see your old site in the new hosting platform without missing anything. You don’t have to worry; it secures your SEO rank and other website metrics also.
